The Meaning of LaPorte

La Porte comes from the Latin word “to carry to safe harbor." When you think about it, that is the purpose of every port (seaport, airport, transport, import, export). The port will be a place for both opportunities (the carrying of investments) and safety (harbor). LaPorte is both the calling of my last name and our firm's God-given calling.
La Porte also means in French “the door/gate” as seen in John 10:9 when Jesus said, “I am the door/gate {In the French it is 'Je suis la Porte'}." Jesus teaches that the door/gate's purpose is for both safety and opportunity, as seen in the rest of John 10:9-10, NKJV: "I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture. The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.” Look closely at our logo: The letter “L” is shaped like a key going into the doorknob/gate, which is the letter “P.” On top of the key is a person whose heart is centered on God leading, which is the key to “Opening the door to your future.” The Lord declares, "I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future" (Jeremiah 29:11, NIV). Your God-given desires act as a treasure map that unfolds as you follow God to the treasure He has prepared for you: "Wherever your treasure is, there the desires of your heart will also be" (Matthew 6:21, NLT). "Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you {meaning God implants inside of you} the desires of your heart" (Psalm 37:4, ESV).
As a firm, our calling is to provide the support you need to successfully navigate your portfolios by managing risk and opportunity as you follow God's plans for your future.
